Trans Lifeline’s Hotline is a peer support phone service run by trans people for trans and questioning peers. You do not need to be “in crisis” to call.

Hours
Trans Lifeline lists set operating hours (not 24/7):
- Monday to Friday
- 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. Pacific
- 1 p.m. – 9 p.m. Eastern
- (Intermediate time zones are also listed on the hotline page.)

What to expect when you call
The hotline page notes:
- You’ll be connected to a trans/nonbinary peer operator
- You won’t be asked for identifying information
- You can talk, or the operator can just listen
Privacy and safety approach
Trans Lifeline states:
- Full anonymity and confidentiality
- No nonconsensual active rescue (they do not call emergency services or law enforcement without your explicit request)
- Calls and chat logs are recorded for quality assurance and deleted after a set period (see hotline FAQ section)
