Good2Talk provides free, confidential mental health support for post-secondary students in Ontario and Nova Scotia.

Eligibility is based on being a current post-secondary student in the supported province.

Languages

  • Ontario’s phone service is available in 100+ languages with the help of a professionally trained interpreter (see the “100+ languages” page for details).

What to expect when you call or text

  • Calling: You can speak with a professional counsellor.
  • Texting / online messaging: You’re connected with a trained, volunteer crisis responder. You’ll receive a few automated messages first, including information about the service and privacy policy. You can end a conversation by texting STOP.

Privacy and safety approach

Good2Talk describes conversations as private/confidential, and explains that information is not shared outside of the service except in limited safety situations when they have identifying information (see their privacy policy references on-site).
